The word diet shouldn't be in anyone's vocabulary. Healthy eating should. MSN ran an article about cutting back just 50 calories a day to shed weight. This article was run a few weeks ago either on MSN or CNN health. While being incapacitated for the next few days to either a hard chair or laying down, how ideal this would be to continue with what I've been doing. In the last 3 days, I've cut out 120 calories a day, accommodating my lack of physical activity besides being in the high end scale of pain. The scale this morning as of 3:21 am shows I'm less 6 lbs. Well there ya have it.
I also cheated..I have a GREAT site to help monitor what the heck I put in my mouth. I'm an emotional eater by nature, and it's been difficult trying to break this habit. My body wiggin out and putting on weight in the last 5 months, woke me up to my lack of care for my health.
I found this: http://www.mealographer.com/user.php?action=new&invitation=10..
You can put in what you've eaten: say ohhhh, cereal and it will give you choices to pick from, go with the closest option. Along with quantities. Milk, you can pick from again a variety of quantities and whether you've chosen Whole, skim, 2%, non fat. This little helper has been a gem. I'm able to track my eating habits a bit more meticulously. Not going overboard, but looking at the source for what I'm eating, when and monitoring the intake. I also have a journal now in which I subscribe to daily, what I was feeling when I ate, what time, how much, etc. What a wake up, for me. for some this method doesn't work. I know that I eat to live and not live to eat.
The reality for me is that I'm good with 2 medium sized meals a day, 2 snacks, alot of greens, and fresh fruit. I use herbs for flavorings more than anything else. Salt lives in my house, I myself do not use it. I just don't like salt. I refuse to cook with it. Just as I don't use salted butters/margarines. I won't. Once I'm able to get back up and moving again, my physical activity is going to increase by 5% daily. Until I hit 100% over my usual daily activities.
Whats the point of this droning piece..to share a bit of knowledge. We are indeed a nation lacking in self discipline. We're over everything. Weight, excessive, greedy, yeah you get the general idea. Exercise is free. Walking, which I do highly enjoy, especially at night, is wonderful for cardio, muscle and overall health. And it's free. It's doesn't cost and arm & leg to join, participate, continue in. Tennis shoes, shorts, pants, tops, jackets. Have all those. See I'm all set. There again, I refuse to spend a ridiculous amount of money of something I'm not at least 4x weekly highly active in. Walking, I do daily or every other day. Especially in warmer months. The biggest expenditure i have at this time is my weights, which found at a garage sale cost me $5.00 for 2- 8 lb hand weights. Not expensive and I can justify spending it. I have a jump rope which I bought 2 weeks ago for $3.00, another GREAT exercise. Again, easily justified, and cheap. I'm all about cheap. Just found out the consignment shop I go to carries roller blades on average for $10.00 to $15.00. Yep buying a pair soon. Cheap enough to learn in.
Warthog is going to be my leaning post while I learn to Roller blade this summer and kick his butt in it, while I'm at it. Then I'll be able to have him teach me how to ice skate again and kick his butt in that Too..Yeah not happening. lol..He's like a tree walking in the door, just as broad. He's gonna spend a lot of time laughing at me though. It's all good. I'll get him and his little birdie too. ((SMILE))..He's a good boyfriend.
