The new Pizza commercial, don't remember the maker, don't care. Stock car driver say Sunday special, every Sunday, buy one get one free. Customer calls the phone # to order the pizza, said driver answers the phone IN HIS CAR, WHILE DRIVING..Yep Land Line too..How many people are going to laugh at this incredibly IGNORANT stunt?! How many PoDunks are going to BUY into it? I'm afraid to know. Yet the marketing company targeted a specific audience on this one. Go figure..(chuckling)..
NASCAR-Mind you I LOVE my NASCAR. Stock car races in general, being raised around the industry as an Uncle I had was a stock car racer. Any who. The VAST majority of racers are highly intelligent. Even their crew chiefs have to have an engineering degree in order to even be considered to work for the companies. Yet they continually TARGET the Dumb, PoDunk, Backwoods mentality. While many fans are degreed, intelligent professionals, they continue to market the original good ole boys. Which would be what: Predominantly White, not of high education, live in modular homes, drives trucks. NOW ON the other hand A new commercial with Dale Jr, Tony Stewart hosts african american males, newer, sportier cars, hip hop music. Juan Montoya has entered and is becoming a fast favorite in his rookie year. Toyota has come to play the field. I dare say the Good Ole Boys Syndrome is on it's way out. I think to some degree I will miss some of their "dumb commercials". Awweee. NASCAR is growing up. FINALLY!
