Investigating Airlines leaving passengers stranded

WASHINGTON - The decision by JetBlue and American Airlines to leave passengers stranded aboard planes for several hours this winter during storms has led the Transportation Department's top official to call for an investigation.

"I have serious concerns about airlines' contingency planning that allows passengers to sit on the tarmac for hours on end," Transportation Secretary Mary Peters said Tuesday in a statement. "It is imperative that airlines do everything possible to ensure that situations like these do not occur again."

COME ON...It's weather..Isn't there any thing MORE important for Washington to focus on..Weather happens. This is one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard of. Yet individuals want what rebates? Talk to mother nature. There is nothing they can do. Of course they're stranded..hmmmm Winter storms, Ice. Yes it is imperative that airlines accommodate individuals while waiting for inclement elements to subside enough to SAFELY transport them.
What lunacy is this. Really! How ignorant. Washington wants to step in and what, control mother nature, maybe is there next step. This country has far too many other urgent issues in which needs their immediate attention and their off on a sidetracking sense of urgency over this. Oh My God. No, no, its no wonder that illegal aliens wish to invade our country, they know they can get away with being here illegally, committing heinous crimes and getting away with them.

Why? Washington is off INVESTIGATING why individuals were left to WAIT out inclement weather..Ahh yea. NO. 10- 20 years ago, this wasn't the issue.. Stranded, you made due. Fact of life. Giving people round free trips for their inconvenience. Scheeezz sorry they couldn't put all of you up at the Marriot for the duration or get a specialty coffee store to show up and set you up with Latte's and Cappuccino's for your convenience. You book a flight in the WINTER, you must LOGICALLY except that there may very well be a delay of possibly several days. Plan for it.

Next time your late for work, because you woke up late, for being an incompetent and forgetting to set your alarm or sleeping through it, please do try to blame someone else for your supreme lack of responsibility.
